Better Call Saul - A Journey into Morality, Love and Regrets

It's been four days since I have watched the series finale of Better Call Saul. And I am still processing my thoughts. Not very often do you come accross a series that takes you on a journey with characters whose fates you somewhat know already, yet they leave you at a loss of words. The fact that this is a spinoff/prequel to Breaking Bad, another timeless masterpiece is a testament to the genius of Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. I had heard great things about Breaking Bad since I was a teen, studying in school. The name would pop up in discussions about films and series, whenever they would take place- with people citing its 9.5 rating on IMDb as a marker of how great that show is. The funny thing was that none of us had seen Breaking Bad back then. Infact I had not seen a single series in my life, when I came to know about Breaking Bad. Cut to 2020, COVID-19 was raging, all of us were locked down into our houses, when I decided to give Breaking Bad a go. Until then, I had alrea...

DARK Trilogy - REVIEW & DETAILED ANALYSIS (Without Major Spoilers)

"Sic Mundus Creatus Est."
Thus The World Was Created....
With These Biblical Worlds we plunge deep into the journey through time , parallel worlds, Quantum Entanglement and Human Nature.

Dark is a German Netflix Original Series, created by Baron B Odar and Jantsze Frietsze. In Season 1, we are introduced to the small German town of Winden- a Small European Town like any other- with seemingly peaceful people carrying on with their peaceful lives until a tragedy strikes, a child goes missing, a body is found in the woods and dark secrets from the past and present - all come colliding with each other.
Since, Dark is such a popular series, each one of us must have heard something about it- someone might have told you it is German Stranger Things, others have told you it is about Time Travel, and Quantum Physics, and if you have seen through Season 2, you probably know the existence of parallel universe. But, believe me the story, even though complicated of the highest order till the penultimate episode - turns into a heartwarming beauty in the Finale.
I first came accross Dark in 2019 after my 1st Year Exams were over and I was enjoying a long holiday. Thanks to my roomie Sambaran, on whose recommendation I began watching the series. (He also provided me the files, I did not have a Netflix Subscription then).
Season 1 revolves around the lead cast all trying to find a way to bring back Mikkel, until it is revealed that Mikkel has to remain in the past so that our protagonist exists, as Mikkel is none other than the Protagonist Jonas' father, lost in front of his eyes, when Mikkel was just a child.
From Season1, we all get a sense, that this endless cycle of time travelling- all to change what is destined, only brings about what is destined. We are repeatedly told that this cycle is an endless cycle- and will continue for infinite times....
In Season 2, We come to know that an Apocalypse shall happen, and though everyone tries to stop it- in the End- they only bring about the Apocalypse. The Season ends with the Apocalypse and also a mind boggling cliffhanger which reveals the existence of a parallel universe, where Jonas' murdered love interest (and his aunt, and it is not the only incest you will see- moreover Martha gets murdered by Jonas' older self Adam- we are left wondering why) Martha is the protagonist.
Even though I liked Season 1 and found it excellent, I did not like Season 2. Well, it gets complicated like hell, and there are not only loops, there are f#@$ing genetic loops too. I thought Season 2 was too much and pretty unrealistic. And, after I had seen the fate of GoT and Star Wars, I had fear back in 2019, that Dark might suffer a similar fate.
That does not mean I wasn't excited- I was and I wanted to know what happened- were they able to prevent the Apocalypse, were they able to bring Mikkel back, Will going to the parallel world break the loop of endless events?
But, believe me I was all wrong- my initial low expectations were wrong and all these questions- they did not even f#$king matter!!!
DARK is a Love Story above all- but not the conventional Boy Girl love story. Yes, there is Adam and Eve, their colliding worlds, their is a lot of Time Travelling, not to mention the incests,
But no- Dark is not a love story between two lovers, Dark is a story of Love of a Father For his Son....And What Extent Can A Parent Go To Save His Child's Life.
I won't boast of seeing a lot of Series Finales (Stranger Things, Money Heist, Family Man, All TVF Shows- none of them have ended in the truest sense) , but Dark's bittersweet ending was a treat to watch. I was in tears, when the Old Man got his wish fulfilled even without knowing himself.....The Balance in the Universe stayed as it was and The Loops broke.....
In the whole Journey, the actors ( Louis Hoffman as Jonas and Lisa Vicari as Martha especially, but not the only ones) gave us a masterclass in acting. Ben Frost' s beautiful songs, at the final minutes of every episode that transitioned with the characters - gave you all the feelings- hope, despair, sadness and happiness....
And, Cinematography-❤❤❤.
Finally, Goodbye Winden-

FOR NEITHER EVER NOR NEVER- GOODBYE
